The Cornell Big Red look to write the next chapter in their surprising March Madness run as the East region’s top-seeded Kentucky Wildcats on Thursday, March 25, 2010.
The Wildcats are 8.5-point March Madness lines favorites and the total is 147.
The Kentucky Wildcats are playing like the bullies in the playground blitzing their opponents from tip-off and not leaving their games in doubt.
The Wildcats piled on the points against Wake Forest in the Second Round finishing with a 30-point 90-60 victory.
Darius Miller led the way with 20 points while DeMarcus Cousins added 19.
Kentucky is playing really well as a team right now and they look like they’re having fun too.
The Cornell Big Red are this year’s Cinderella. The Ivy League teams are at a big disadvantage because they are not able to offer athletics scholarships, but Cornell has overcome this and upset a number of brackets along the way.
The Big Red dominated their second round opponent Wisconsin by a score of 87-69 getting major contributions from Louis Dale, with 26 points, and Ryan Wittman, with 24 points. Cornell shot .533 from outside the arc.
They have a number of solid players and some legitimate outside threats that opponents need to counter.
If Dale and Wittman can continue to find the net with their three-pointers, the Wildcats might find Cornell to be uncomfortably close at the end of the game.
